Anthony Hunter Schiff founded the Firm in February 1984. The son of a physician and a nurse, Tony has had a lifelong interest in health care and legal issues that affect physicians. In 1978, Tony worked for the White House for the Special Assistant to the President for Health. Returning to his native Los Angeles, he was among the first attorneys in California to specialize in physician health care law.

Tony is the co-founder (and a Past Chair) of the Health Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. In addition, Tony is a Past President of the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys. Tony regularly lectures on current health law issues to his colleagues and to physicians and health care executives. Tony is AV® Preeminent™ 5.0 out of 5 Peer Review Rated by Martindale-Hubbell.*

Tony received his B.S. in Political Science and a minor in International Affairs from Lewis and Clark College in 1974. He received his Juris Doctorate from Southwestern University in 1977 and received his Masters in Public Health in Hospital and Health Services Administration from UCLA in 1978. Tony has taught health law at UCLA since 1982. After several academic appointments, Tony was advanced to Professor (Adjunct) in the School of Public Health in 2006.
